Obituary

William O. Kohli, born July 30, 1944, in Payne Ohio, son of Phillip and Opal (Moser) Kohli, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 16, 2026. Bill a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather whose greatest joy in life was the family he built and cherished. He worked as an accountant for over 40 years and loved watching and supporting IU and Notre Dame athletics.
Bill walked through life with a quiet strength, a gentle spirit, and an unwavering faith in God. He was a long-time member of Saint Joseph United Methodist Church. He modeled Christian love, honesty, and hard work every single day, leaving a spiritual footprint that will guide his family for generations to come. Whether sharing a piece of wisdom at the kitchen table or bowing his head in prayer, he lived his faith through his actions.
As a loving husband to his beloved wife, Gloria, he shared a partnership defined by deep devotion, laughter, and grace. As a father to Missi, Chad and Dawn, he was a steadfast pillar – always present with encouragement, support, and unconditional love.
Later in life his title shifted to Grandpa and Great-Grandpa, terms that brought him tremendous pride and joy. He lit up whenever the children were around and eagerly celebrated their milestones, cheered at their games/recitals, and spoiled them with warmth and affection.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of nearly 62 years, Gloria (Rupert) Kohli. His children, Missi Robins (Tony), Chad (Lisa) Kohli, Dawn (Keith) Franklin. Also surviving are grandchildren Josh (Jenna) Stier, Mariah (Jordan) Conn, McKynzie (Tanner) Lengacher, Cameron (Brooke) Kohli, Jeremy (Shelby) Kohli, Everett Franklin, Macy (Brady) Mcartor, and Cassie Kohli (Ryan); along with 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his sisters Phyllis Shaw and Diane Kohli.
Funeral service will be at 1pm on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Fairhaven Funeral Home (6557 N. Clinton St., Fort Wayne, In. 46825). Visitation will also be October 23 from 10-1 at Fairhaven.
