Obituary

William Carl Freeman, 60, of Fort Wayne went to his eternal rest on February 11, 2022. Born on October 2, 1961 in Decatur, Illinois he was a loving son, husband, brother, and father.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra Freeman of Fort Wayne; five children, Katheryn Moroney, Maureen Moroney, Heather Evelyn Freeman, David Jordan Freeman, and Sarah Estelle Freeman; brother Mark (Jacqueline) Freeman of Decatur, Illinois, brother Jason (Alan Sterns) Freeman of Norcross, Georgia, sister-in-law Gail Strain (Howard) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents David Freeman and Anna (Fields) of Decatur, Illinois and one sister, Daveanna Taylor.

Bill was a 1982 graduate of Douglas MacArthur High School and employed as a truck driver most recently for Echo Lake Transport LLC. His infectious smile and sense of humor endeared him to all. Bill's belief in the word of God was a steadfast source of comfort. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife, Sandi, reminiscing with family and friends, and most particularly cooking with a specialty in barbecue and sharing the food he prepared with loved ones. Bill will always be remembered for offering a helping hand.
