Obituary
William "Bill" E. Collins, 71, of Fort Wayne, IN went Home to the Lord and was reunited with his son, Jacob, on Friday, September 1, 2023. He was born to the late William Russell and Alice (Sutterfield) Collins on August 23, 1952 in Denver, CO. Bill was a proud veteran of the US Navy and he would say "thank you for being an American." He was married to Gena, the love of his life, for 43 years. Bill spent over 20 years working in the media as "Collins in the Morning" on the radio. When he wasn't on the radio, he loved trucking. He was currently working for German Trucking. Bill loved to hit a poker tournament occasionally. He was a member of Pathway Community Church and former member of the American Legion.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Gena; children, Chelsea (Mario) Rosario, Issac (Heather) Bouchard, and Cara (Brian) Smith; seven grandchildren; four bonus GG's with twins on-the-way; sister, Kathy Wassermen; and a host of relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Pathway Community Church (1010 Carroll Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46845) on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 6:00 pm with visitation beginning at 4:00 pm until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors.
