Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William ‘Bill’ Diehm on July 17, 2026.

Bill was born and raised in Fort Wayne IN. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, husband, and
friend who left a lasting impression on everyone, lucky enough to know him. After retiring, he
enjoyed the simple things in life—listening to his favorite music, searching for treasures in antique
stores/flea markets, spending time outdoors, sharing a good glass of whiskey, and making people
laugh with his quick wit and unforgettable personality.

He was a little bit of everyone’s dad—always having something smart to say, music to share,
whiskey to pour, and advice you never asked for but somehow always needed. He had a way of
making people feel like family.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jo Ann Diehm; his pride and joy, his beautiful and goofy
daughter, Taryn Kiger, affectionately known as “Booger,” who made him laugh until the very end. He
is also survived by his favorite (and only) son-in-law, Craig Kiger AKA Mr. Big; his daughter’s best
friend, Tavio Gutierrez, who he loved like his own; his cherished niece, Michele (James) Griffin; and
his beloved nephew, Allan (LaDonna) Pressler, whom he loved like a son and his two sisters, the
sweetest sister Patricia ‘Patty’ (Larry) Pressler and the protector, his oldest sister, Rebecca Dorsey.
Nothing compared to the love he had for his only grandson, Jack, whom he loved more than life
itself. We take comfort knowing Jack was waiting to welcome his grandpa home, with his faithful
dog, Stewie, by his side. We like to think they are together now, surrounded by music, laughter, and
peace.
Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for every memory, every laugh, and every lesson he
gave us. His stories will continue to be told, his music will continue to be played, and his love will
continue to live on.

Until we meet again, we know the music is playing, Jack has already wrapped you in a hug, Stewie is
at your feet, there’s an antique waiting to be discovered, and a good glass of whiskey at the end of
the day.
Rest easy, Dad. You earned it.
Forever loved. Forever missed.
