Willard Dale Friedle, 95, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Midland, Michigan, Willard was a son of the late Lester and Victoria (Lepper) Friedle.
He graduated from Midland High School and went on to earn both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University. Willard proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he attained the rank of First Lieutenant.
During his professional career, Willard worked as an Electrical Engineer for several companies, contributing his knowledge and expertise to numerous projects throughout his career. He was known for his dedication, intelligence, and strong work ethic.
Despite the demands of his career, Willard always placed his family first. He was a devoted father who faithfully supported his family in their interests, goals, and endeavors. Time spent together meant everything to him.
In his free time, Willard found relaxation on the golf course, where the game quickly became a favorite pastime. Golf provided a welcome balance to the responsibilities of work and was something he enjoyed for many years, including achieving the highly coveted hole-in-one.
He is survived by his sons, Mike Friedle, Steve (Mary Beth) Friedle, and Dennis (Gayle) Friedle; grandchildren, Chad (Sara), Chris, Kenny (Amy), Emily, Thomas, Ellie (Juan), Adam, and Jimmy; five great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Friedle; and sister-in-law, Mona Friedle.
Willard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, JoAnn Friedle, and siblings, Lloyd, Wilma, Kenneth, and Dorothy.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with United States Army Military Honors at 3:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
