Walter D. Rectenwald, 80, completed his life's journey on Sunday, March 27, 2022. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 27, 1941, Walter was the son of the late Walter and Helen (Edgar) Rectenwald. He graduated from St. George High School, class of 1959. Walter served his country for four years in the Navy and then earned his bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indiana Institute of Technology. Walter was married to Beverly (Alles) Rectenwald for 48 years. Fort Wayne is where they raised their family and in 1976 started a very successful sheet metal fabrication company. Surviving are his children, James (Mya) Rectenwald, Jennifer LaForge; grandchildren, Spencer, Lily (Dwight) Welch, Audrey and Ethan Rectenwald; siblings, Judy Gayton, Kathleen (Roger) Short, Karen (John) Most; and loving companion Michaela Stewart. Walter was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Hill, in laws, David Hill and John Gayton. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
