Virginia Mae Koenig, 81, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, in Fort Wayne. Born in Allen County, she was the daughter of the late Glen and Helen Chaney. Virginia held various production type positions throughout her lifetime and retired from the healthcare profession in 1999. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in New Haven and VFW Post 330 New Haven, Indiana. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; daughters, Elaine (Anthony) Jones, Amy (Joe) Cechvala, Brian Koenig; grandchildren, Elise and Allison Jones, Avery and William Cechvala; son-in-law, Ralph Thompson; sisters, Barbara (Larry) Gilford, Patricia Harbor, and brother, Scott Chaney. Virginia was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Thompson, grandson, James Thompson; and siblings, Frances Platt and Robert Chaney. Service is 10:30 am, Monday, September 30, 2024, at St. James Lutheran Church, 1720 SR 930 East New Haven, IN, with calling from 8:30 am until the service. Calling also on Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 1:30 pm to 8:30 pm at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. A private entombment will be at Highland Park Cemetery.
