Vera Jean "Jeanne" Burnett, 72, of Fort Wayne, died peacefully on December 22, 2023. She was born on May 16, 1951 in Carmel, Indiana to Gilbert and Denzell Long. She moved to Fort Wayne in 1982 with her husband, Kevin Burnett, where she built a beautiful life for herself and her family.
Jeanne was an avid reader who loved crosswords, sudoku and anything that challenged her mind. She was a creative soul who believed that you should always leave a place more beautiful than you found it. She did this through her love of gardening, sewing and her overall way of living. She devoted over 35 years of her life to her work as the Manager of Operations at Haggard & Stocking. She loved being outside in nature and found her home away from home at Mackinac Island where she would vacation each year. She loved all animals, especially her cats. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when her children needed her. She remembered all of the things they loved, no matter how big or small they were, and had the ability to make each and every one of them feel extraordinary and deeply loved. She was greatly interested in the lives of her grandchildren and looked forward to seeing them grow. She was an incredibly special person who had an immense love for her family and friends. She impacted everyone she met and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
