Vera (Vicki) Katherine Harper went to be with our Lord on Monday, November 3, 2025. She was born to Nolan and Mildred (Lowe) Lewis on June 4, 1928 and was joined in marriage to George L. Harper in August of 1949. To this union were born two daughters, Linda Hayden White, Westfield and Paula Wright, wife of Dick Wright, Spencerville. She was blessed with a granddaughter, Crissa Hayden-Fruits, four grandsons:

Jamie Hayden, Nathan, Benjamin and Daniel Wright; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was proceeded in death by her husband, her four brothers, one sister, one step-brother and survived by 2 half-sisters.

Sewing was her gift which she continued using throughout her life.

After a career as a seamstress at Hart, Schaffner & Marx, she continued her sewing passion by hand stitching amazing quilts. One of her beautiful quilts won a blue ribbon at the Indiana State Fair. Her quilts included bed quilts, lap quilts and jean quilts which she generously shared with family, friends and many others.

A funeral service will take place at 11 am, Saturday, November 8, 2025, located at Brookside Church (6102 Evard Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46835) with visitation from 10 am until the service. A private burial will take place at Mount Hope Athens Cemetery at a later time.
