Obituary for Valerie Jean (Wills) Abron

Valerie Jean (Wills) Abron , of Fort Wayne, Indiana, formerly of Anderson, Indiana, passed away peacefully with her family on October 19, 2025 .

Valerie was born in Anderson, Indiana, to the late Marvin E. Wills and Mattie Jean Wills . She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Beatrice Lewis , and her goddaughter, Daejanara Brooks .

Valerie was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She was a woman of deep faith in God and was passionate about helping women, children, and survivors of domestic violence. Valerie was unapologetically herself—outspoken, strong, and compassionate—and she used her voice to uplift others in need.

Cherished Family

She leaves behind three loving children: Bobby DeMontri Wills , Taiyon Donte Wills , and Amelia Lolita Wills .

Her memory will forever be cherished by her many grandchildren: Adonus Wills , Marquis Benjamin , Layonna Wills , Jabrea Fleming , DeMontri Wills , Taiyonia Wills, Taiyonia Wills Jr., Iyonia Wills , Tyquan Wills , Kylen Wills , Dylan Wills , Lacia Wills , Jamarree Fleming , Serena Wills , Jazmine Wills , and Blanca Wills .

Valerie was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Alasia Wills , Tai'lynn Rodgers , A.J. Wills , Jaylynn Wills , Kalia Wills, Iridessa Wills .

And step-grandchildren: Shaniya Wills, Jerwuan Taylor , Jalayshia Taylor , Keyontae Taylor , Tahliana Daniels , and Jaylen Davis .

Siblings and Extended Family

Valerie is survived by her beloved sisters, Norvetta Cannon (Sissy) and Teaota Riley , as well as several step-siblings. She is also remembered fondly by her godmother Sarah Evans, Susan Holleran , and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime friends who will miss her dearly.

Farewell and Celebration of Life

Valerie's celebration of life will be led by Pastor Kim Curry , Unity Christian Fellowship

Valerie's spirit will live on through her family, her community, and all who were touched by her kindness and courage. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and faith that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
