Tsukako "Sue" Murdock, 95 of Fort Wayne, IN departed this earth on June 3, 2026.

Sue was born in Yokosuka, Japan. She survived the bombings of World War II and only completed an eighth-grade education. She met her future husband, Glenn Murdock at a skating rink while he was stationed in Yokosuka with the US Navy during the Korean War, and they married in 1954. While serving in the Navy, they traveled the world, living in Kansas, California, Japan, Philippines, Ethiopia, Rhode Island, and Morocco before he retired in 1981 after 30 years of honorable service and settled in McCune, Kansas. There they established and ran the G & T Truck Stop Restaurant for 23 years. Sue’s excellent cooking, especially her home-made pies, and Glenn’s local knowledge, as well as his biscuits and gravy recipe, grew the business so successfully that several nearby competitors had to close their doors. After Glenn passed away in 2003, Sue moved to Indiana to be closer to family. She remained very active, joining a Silver Sneakers exercise class a couple of times a week. Sue loved golf and was still playing in a golf league at age 94. When not golfing or watching the Golf Channel, she could be found completing Sudoku or Word Search puzzles armed with the world’s largest eraser. Sue was always thoughtful, giving, and cared for others, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everyone who knew Sue described her as "sweet". Sue is survived by her daughter, Glenna Jehl (Steve) of Fort Wayne, and son, Gary Murdock (Riza) of Chesapeake, Virginia. After a long, healthy and adventurous life, Sue is blessed with 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. We will all miss her, but Sue has moved on to a better place and is now at peace.

A Celebration of Life will be 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St., with a Time of Remembrance at 1:30 pm.
