Timothy “Tim” Bresnahan, 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, June 22, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Tim was the son of the late Robert and Katherine Bresnahan. He graduated from South Whitley High School before earning a bachelor’s degree in Education from Murray State University and a master’s degree in Education from the University of Saint Francis.
On July 31,1965, Tim married the love of his life, Carol Mollet. Their love spanned nearly 61 years and was built on love, devotion, and binding faith. Tim loved his family deeply. He treasured every moment with family including their three children and ten grandchildren. Spending time with the grandchildren was one of his greatest joys. He rarely missed cheering them on at their countless activities whether watching in person or via livestream.
Nothing brought him greater joy than being with the people he loved—even if that meant dozing off on the couch after a good meal. Tim also loved the game of golf, and those who knew him well can smile knowing he has already enjoyed a flawless round on Heaven's fairways.
Tim began his career in education at South Adams High School in Berne, Indiana, teaching speech and PE. His influence reached far beyond the classroom. As a coach of cross country, golf, and basketball, Tim leveraged every opportunity to mentor and shape the lives of young people.
In 1973, Tim transitioned into sales with Herff Jones where his success, integrity, and leadership earned him an induction into the Herff Jones Hall of Fame in 2004. Tim deeply cherished the twenty years he spent working alongside his son, Mark, where they continued to build the business together. He retired in 2013 after forty years with the company.
Tim’s true life's work was serving Jesus Christ. He never missed an opportunity to tell others about the hope he had found in the Lord. Whether speaking with a cab driver, a fellow traveler in an elevator, a waiter, a neighbor, or a lifelong friend, Tim’s contagious passion for the Gospel brought many people to a full relationship with Christ Jesus.
For 50 years, Tim faithfully devoted his time and talents to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization, helping establish FCA huddles in local schools where students could grow in their faith and build Christ-centered friendships. His decades of service and leadership were recognized in 2023 when he was inducted into the FCA Hall of Champions in Kansas City, Missouri.
Tim was a Kingdom-minded man whose faith and joy inspired others to live boldly and walk in lockstep with the Lord. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Bresnahan; children, Christine (Todd) DeTurk, Mark (Amandia) Bresnahan, and Doug (September) Bresnahan; grandchildren, Luke DeTurk, David (Grace) Bresnahan, Kate (Leo) Murphy, Rosie Bresnahan, Michael Bresnahan, Lincoln Bresnahan, Sophia Bresnahan, Maggie DeTurk, Georgia Bresnahan, and Evelyn DeTurk; sister, Kathy (Dick) Glick; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Bresnahan.
