Tia “Angel” Buchanan, 47, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Angel was born on January 8, 1979, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. From the very beginning, she carried a warmth and light that lived up to her name. She was a woman of deep passion, compassion, quiet strength, and a heart that gave endlessly to those around her.
Above all, Angel was a devoted wife and mother. She shared a deep and enduring love with her husband, James Buchanan, building a life rooted in faith, commitment, and family. Together they raised four children, who were the center of her world: Trenise, Selah, Judah, and James. Angel’s love for her children was fierce and unconditional—she nurtured them, guided them, and poured herself into their lives in a way they will carry with them forever. She knew how to turn tragedy into triumph and that was a big part of her message through her faith in Jesus Christ.
Angel had a gentle spirit and a calming presence. She made people feel safe, seen, and loved. Whether through her words, her touch, or simply being near, she had a gift for bringing peace into difficult moments. Even in her final days, her presence continued to draw her family close, reminding them of what matters most—love, connection, and being together.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her grace through hardship, and the quiet strength she showed throughout her life. Angel had a way of making ordinary moments feel meaningful, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
Angel is survived by her husband, James; her children, Trenise, Selah, Judah, and James; her father, Clifford White (Rebecca); her sisters, Niyoki Chapman (Jay) and Mikki Curry (Derek); Malikah King (Martin) her brother, Kenny White and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn White, who passed away in 2020.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pathway Community Church, 1010 Carroll Road. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 9, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior, also at Pathway Community Church.
