Thomas Stanton Smith, age 80, passed away June 19, 2024 at his home in Leo, IN. He was born in Jay County, Indiana to the late Milton and Marjorie Smith. Tom proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army and was a recipient of the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Silver Star. He worked over 45 years as an electrical engineer with Verizon and Frontier. Tom is survived by his wife, Linda Smith; daughter, Melinda Smith Taylor; son, Matthew Smith; grandchildren, Isaak Smith and Cora Smith; and his sister, Peggy (Jim) Hummel. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Smith. Services are 11:00 am Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Leo Methodist Church, 13527 Leo Rd. Leo, IN 46765 with calling two hours prior beginning at 9:00 am. A meal for family and friends will follow the service. Memorials may be made to Leo Methodist Church or the Wounded Warrior Project.
