Obituary

Thomas Patrick Moran Jr., age 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, on October 16, 2026, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Tom was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Thomas and Helen Moran. He spent the last years of his life in Englewood, Ohio, where he met his beloved wife of 19 years, Lelia Earleen Moran.

Tom proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He worked as a local delivery driver and later retired from Honda Corporation. Tom is remembered by his loved ones as a man of faith who read his Bible often and led the family in prayer at meals. He possessed a great sense of humor and was kind, gentle, and generous.

Tom enjoyed attending Western festivals, watching old Western movies, and cheering on his beloved Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved animals and never turned down a great slice of pizza. Above all, he cherished his family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Lelia Earleen Moran; his children, Kelly (Jim) Hall, Jennifer (David) Knerr Moran, and Thomas (Tina) Moran; his stepchildren, David (Grace) Shearer and Kathryn (Robert) Hunsche; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Patricia Adkins and Debra Sluder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Helen Moran; his siblings, Frank, Martin, and Erin Moran; and his grandson, Mitchell Hall.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at First Light Church, 140 Elva Court, Vandalia, Ohio 45377. Family will receive friends one hour before the service. A private burial will follow at Memorial Park in Dayton, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Care Ministry of First Light Church.

Tom will be remembered for his faith in the Lord, his generous heart, and his love for his family. His life touched many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
