Thea Lynn Stauffer, 68, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, Thea was a daughter of the late Richard Zielinski and Carol Zielinski, who survives.
Thea dedicated 29 years of service to GTE before retiring. While she took pride in her career, her greatest joy in life was always her family. She had a generous heart and would do just about anything for those she loved. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing a meal, or simply being present, Thea's family always knew they could count on her.
She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and took great pride in bringing people together around the table. Thea was also a master thrift shopper, always finding hidden treasures and great bargains. Music was another passion in her life, and she loved listening to her favorite songs and dancing whenever the opportunity arose.
An avid animal lover, Thea opened her heart and home to countless dogs and cats throughout the years. Her beloved companions brought her tremendous happiness, and she cared for each of them with unwavering love and devotion.
Above all, Thea treasured her role as a grandmother. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every opportunity to spend time with them, creating memories they will carry with them forever. Whether sharing stories, laughter, family traditions, or simple everyday moments, Thea's love for her family was evident in everything she did. Thea lived her dash.
Surviving are her daughter, Kori Stauffer; her beloved dogs, Bentley, Murphy, and Gus; grandchildren, Aaliyah, Laityn (Brendyn), Sophie, Tebo, Bennett, and Beckham; stepchildren, Dirk Stauffer and Cathy Cook; mother, Carol Zielinski; siblings, Rick Zielinski and Tara Casiano; along with many extended family members and friends.
Thea was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Stauffer; stepson, Beau Stauffer; brother, Tony Zielinski; and her father, Richard Zielinski.
A Celebration of Thea's Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
