Terrence Emanuel Gant
, age 58, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Gary, Indiana, Terrence was the son of the late Emanuel Gant and Margaret Lee (Williamson) Johnson, who survives. He was a proud graduate of Gary Roosevelt High School.
During his working years, Terrence was employed in the maintenance departments of several companies, where his strong work ethic and reliability earned the respect of his colleagues. A faithful member of Cathedral of Praise Ministries International, Terrence lived his faith daily, serving as an example of devotion, humility, and kindness.
Terrence was an avid walker who found joy in the simple things—listening to music, journaling his thoughts, and dancing whenever the opportunity arose. The highlight of his life was meeting the love of his life, Thomasa, with whom he shared 28 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and partnership.
Surviving are his wife, Thomasa Gant; brothers, Troy (Valda) Gant, Brian (Kayla Merrick) Gant; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Terrence was preceded in death by his step-father, Richard Johnson; maternal grandparents, S.T. Williamson and Fannie Mae Christopher; paternal grandparents, Mose and Beatrice Gant Sr.; and his sister-in-law, Darlene Gant.
Funeral Service for Terrence will be 12 noon, Friday, August 29, 2025 at Cathedral of Praise Ministries International, 3501 Harris Road, with calling from 10 am until the services. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Memorials may be made in honor of Terrence to: Cathedral of Praise Ministries International. He will be remembered for his warm heart, gentle spirit, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him.
