Obituary

Susan Ann Scheeler, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 28, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Susan was a daughter of the late Clarence and Dorothy (Strasburg) Heidbrink. She graduated from South Side High School. Susan met the love of her life Kirk Scheeler at Big Long Lake and from that moment on, they went on to be together for the next 65 years. Anyone that knew Susan knew her love for God, family, and her love for her landscaping and home décor. She enjoyed planting flowers, gardening, and making her lawn look perfect. Once you make your way into their home you quickly found out her ultimate interior design ability. She made their home look perfect in so many ways that were welcoming to friends and family. Susan had a strong and steadfast faith in the Lord, loved her church, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, and cherished her time with her family. Surviving are her husband, Kirk Scheeler; children, Julie Lehman, Jenny (Kelly) Charles, Jeff (Deb) Scheeler; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings Sandra (Stephen) Lange and David Heidbrink. Service is 1 pm, Monday, August 4, 2025 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling from 11 am until the services. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
