Steve Mueller, 59, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026. He was born to Martha (Teders) and the late James Mueller on May 5, 1966. He graduated from East Noble High School and was the sectional wrestling champion in 1984. He was an avid and talented golfer and enjoyed bowling with his buddies in the off-season. Steve loved sports. His favorite teams included the Pittsburgh Steelers, the L.A. Dodgers, and Notre Dame Football.
Steve was a truly authentic and ornery pot-stirrer, just like his dad. If you knew Steve, you know he was a hard ass — but if you really knew Steve, you know he would do anything for the people he loved and had a huge heart. He deeply loved his daughters and granddaughters, always ensuring they were taken care of.
Along with his mother, Martha, Steve is survived by his daughters, Brittany (Jeremy) Leonard and Ashley (Nicolas) Mueller Drewery; his granddaughters, Kaylie and Ava Leonard; his sisters, Julie (Jerry) Kessler and Linette (Dan) Hayes; and a host of relatives and friends. Along with his father, Jim, he was preceded in death by his sister, Deb Robinson.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46825) at 7:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. A Catholic Mass in his honor will be held at a later date at Immaculate Conception in Kendallville, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Services of NE Indiana.
“Glad you got to see me.”
