Stephen R. Herman, 69, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Monday, February 9, 2026. He was born to the late Roger and Patricia (Schreiner) Herman in New Haven, CT on September 5, 1956. Steve graduated from Guilford High School in Guilford, CT, in 1974 where he had been band president and played the clarinet and saxophone. He then studied at Valparaiso University in Mechanical Engineering, and graduated from Huntington University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne and served as an usher. Steve completed the entire Boy Scouts of America program, culminating in becoming an Eagle Scout. He took many cycling and camping trips with friends and also enjoyed tennis and going cross-country skiing with his faithful companion dog, Sam. He enjoyed photography and studying the Bible.

Stephen is survived by his siblings, Peter Herman, Susan (Tom) Kusher, and Julie (Bob) Parrent; nieces, Paige Parrent and Sophie (Sam) Frutos; nephew, Gabriel Parrent; and great-niece, Violet Frutos.

A memorial service will be on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 11:00 am at Emmanuel Lutheran Church (917 W Jefferson Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46802).
