Shirley (Veydt) Zemaitis,81, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022. Born in Colliers, West Virginia, Shirley was a daughter of the late Emile and Birtie Veydt. Shirley was a loving wife, devoted mother, and caring grandmother to her family. During her working years she worked for American Chicle prior to her first retirement. She most recently worked for Cracker Barrel in the gift shop for 15 years. Shirley attended Elevate City Church. Nothing was more import to Shirley than her faith in God and spending time with her family. Shirley is survived by her children, Bill (Amy) Zemaitis Jr. of Fort Wayne, Bob (Valerie) Zemaitis of Crown Point, IN, Brian (Ginnie) Zemaitis of Dade City, FL; and Brenda Zemaitis of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren, Blair (Jacob), Billy III, Bryce, Bobby Jr., Jonny, Brian Jr., Brayden, Brody, and Branson; one great-grandson, JJ; along with her sister, Nancy Tournay. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William Zemaitis Sr. and 3 siblings. Service is 11 am, Friday, January 6, 2023 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling one hour prior. Calling also Thursday, January 5, 2023 at the funeral home from 5 pm to 8 pm. Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
