Obituary

Sharon Jo Harrison, 76, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026.

She was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, to the late Joe Mitchell and Katherine Kelly.

Sharon worked as a medical transcriber for 35 years with Riverside Methodist. She was a devoted member of Taylor Chapel, where she was deeply involved in the life of the church and its ministries. She also volunteered with Blessings in a Backpack, generously giving her time and care in support of children and families in the community.

Sharon loved Jesus, and she reflected her faith in the way she lived each day: with compassion, kindness, patience, and grace toward everyone she met. She was cherished by all who knew her, having a special gift for making people feel seen, heard, and cared for. She was always willing to listen, offer encouragement, or simply be a bubbly presence.

She found joy and peace in the calm serenity of the ocean, in reading a good book, and most of all, in spending time with the people she loved. Sharon had a gentle spirit and a remarkable way of making life lighter for those around her.

Sharon is survived by her children, Jeffrey and Tracie West, Brian and Amy West, and AJ and Jama Ross; grandchildren, Ashley, Kyle, Tammie, Cassie, Brea, Bryleigh, McKenzie, Dexter, Julian, Seth, Charlotte, Sophia, and William; many great-grandchildren; and siblings, Jerry and Debbie Mitchell and Robyn Smith.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Harrison, in 2021; her sister, Terese; and her parents.

Sharon will be missed more than words can express by a family who loved her beyond measure. They will continue to carry her beautiful spirit, her faith, her kindness, and the love she gave so freely with them wherever they go.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
