Shannon Marie Baughman, 56, of Columbia City, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 30, 2025. She was born June 21, 1969.

She loved her family & friends, drawing, poetry, playing sports, playing candy crush, playing card games, collecting knickknacks, especially rabbits, gardening, decorating for the holidays & let's not forget her wine and Jack Daniel's and the list goes on and on. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend & so much more. She was a one-of-a-kind beautiful soul & anyone who knew her knew she was special. She was the life of the party & lit up any room she walked into with her warm embrace, energy, laugh & smile you’ll remember. Let’s not forget her stubbornness, so stubborn it drives you a little crazy sometimes, but it was part of what made her who she was. She would also want us all to enjoy all the wonderful memories we had with her and celebrate her amazing life. She will be missed and most of all she is loved!

She is survived by her spouse / best friend, Kenneth Heare, her children Hannah Heare (Greg) and Darold Heare (Amanda and Cody) her grandchildren, Bentlee, Elijah, Donald, Ariyah, Alaia, Amelia, Ezrah, Jaxson & Waylynn. Her parents Mary (Roger) Douglas and Philip Baughman & Step-Mom Peggy Baughman. Her siblings Pamala (Todd) Colpetzer, Corey (Sandra) Baughman, Gary (Peggy) Richardson, Brad Richardson, Leslie (Paul) Royal, James (Colleen) Douglas, John Douglas, Kevin (Sarah) Douglas, Justin Douglas, Isaiah Douglas, Tylor (Heather) Douglas & Nathaniel Douglas and many, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, her son Gerald Heare Jr.

Memorial service will be at Saint John Ev. Lutheran Church 729 W Washington Blvd. Fort Wayne, Indiana 46802 at 2pm on Sunday, December 14, 2025 with a dinner to follow.
