Scott Reader , 66, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2025. Born and raised in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Donald and Lavon Reader.

Scott dedicated 40 years of his life to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 305, where he was a proud member.

He had a passion for life's simple pleasures—cruising around in his convertible, and cheering on his favorite NASCAR and NHRA drivers. During football season, Scott was an avid supporter of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Indianapolis Colts.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Reader; daughters, Melissa (Randy) Irk and Amanda (Dan) Boldt; stepchildren, Dan (Michelle) Smith and Shayla Smith; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; his sister, Colleen Firestine; and sister-in-law, Katie Reader.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Greg Reader and Rick Reader.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Humane Fort Wayne.
