Samuel "Sam" Tash , 93, of North Manchester, IN, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at his residence in North Manchester, IN. Born in Scottsburg, IN, on August 27, 1931, he was the son of Lawrence and Thelma (Wolff) Tash. Sam retired from Fort Wayne National Bank in 1995. He began performing with Audiences Unlimited in 1988, entertaining at public venues and health care facilities for 33 years. In 1989, he co-founded the Northeast Indiana Banjo Society, which performed numerous concerts until 2016. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sharon; daughter, Lisa (Ronald) Turner; sons, Michael and James (Lisa); grandchildren, Drue Trick, Megan (Aaron) Metzger, Nicholas Tash, Elijah Tash, and Maxwell Tash; and great-grandchildren, Amelie Trick, Hadley Metzger, Grayson Metzger, Ophelia Tash, and Katerina Tash. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Daniel Trick. In later years, Sam became affiliated with Gone Fishing Ministry Inc., Fort Wayne, and Evangel Prison Ministry, Louisville, KY, contributing to the publication of Bible studies for inmates. A celebration of life will be held at Fairhaven Funeral Home (6557 North Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46825) on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with calling from noon until the service. Preferred memorials may be given to Gone Fishing Ministry, Inc. (1501 S. Clinton St., Box 10982, Fort Wayne, IN 46855).
