Samuel Isaac Adams, aged 55, passed away peacefully on October 12th, 2025, comforted by his wife of 33 years, Teresa. Sam is survived by his wife, Teresa Adams, his children, Sarah, Colin, and Emily Adams, his sisters Melissa Adams, Jill Adams, and Robyn (Scott) Bercot, and his father Terry (Mimi) Adams. He was preceded in death by his mother Elyse Adams. Sam was a police Lieutenant with the Fort Wayne police department and had served the community for over 27 years. Sam was a Purdue University graduate and a founding member of PI KAPPA PHI's Zeta Psi Chapter at IUPUI. Sam was an expert marksman, avid gardener, a creative woodworker, and a licensed drone pilot. Sam was also a black belt in karate and took home a gold medal in the 2001 Police and Fire games. He served on the FWPD FACT team as a supervisor, he was a NHTSA standard field sobriety testing instructor, he commanded the FWPD Honor Guard, and he served on FWPD's EST. A public visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th from 2 pm to 6 pm at FairHaven Funeral Home at 6557 N. Clinton Street. The second visitation will be held on Monday October 20th from 10am to 11am, with the funeral service proceeding immediately after at FairHaven Funeral Home. After the funeral service there will be a processional to the crematorium where the FWPD will hold honors.
