Obituary

Salte Odisho, age 97, transitioned into her heavenly home on September 9, 2026, at her home in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born January 5, 1929, in Duhok, Iraq.

Salte’s strong faith in her Lord Jesus gives comfort that she is in her loving Father’s arms. She was a member of St. John Chrysostom Antiochian Orthodox Church and the Assyrian Church of the East.

Salte will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who treasured her family above all else. Her most joyful moments were spent surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren.

She had a generous spirit and loved welcoming friends into her home for a meal.

A talented and meticulous seamstress, Salte created many wedding dresses and enjoyed tailoring clothing for her friends. She also loved wearing her fancy clothes for any occasion.

She found joy in traveling, attending concerts, and watching her Elvis movies while listening to his music.

Salte is survived by her sons, Ted Odisho of Chicago, Ill., Ash (Laura) Odisho and Noel Odisho, and William (Sandra) Odisho of Fort Wayne.; daughters, Klemia Odisho, Linda Odisho and Lilyana Odisho, all of Fort Wayne; and seven grandchildren, David, Sasha (Alex), Ashley (Tate), Natasha (Nate), Gabrial (SaraKate), Immanuel, and Isaiah; and eight great-grandchildren, Elijah, Ramina, Naomi, Barrett, Nina, Noelle, Theo, and Conrad.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Warda Odisho; son, Deudorus Odisho; daughter, Shami Cramer; brothers, Joe, David, Solomon; and sisters, Basso, Esther, and Shoshan.

Service is 11:00 am Monday, September 14, 2026, at St. John Chrysostom Antiochian Orthodox Church, 402 Badiac Rd. Fort Wayne, IN 46845, with calling one hour prior. Calling also 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the church, with entry prayers at 3:45 pm and a Trisagion Service at 7:00 pm. Burial at Lindenwood Cemetery.
