Ruth Ann Sprunger, age 83, of Woodburn, IN passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024 in Fort Wayne. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Aldo and Frieda Sprunger and was a graduate of Central High School and Marion College. Ruth Ann dedicated her life to teaching and serving in missions. Her career included teaching at Okinawa Christian School, George Washington School of Medellin, Colombia, past director of Wesleyan Church Kiddie Kollege, an elementary teacher with the East Allen School Corporation, and she also spent time teaching in Boca Raton, FL, Raleigh, NC, and Anderson, IN. Ruth Ann was a previous member of Spring Street Wesleyan Church and a current member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Monroeville, IN where she served as the church organist for 25 years. She was also a member of the Senior Saints singing group and the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians; and was active in playing at many wedding and funerals. Ruth Ann is survived by her nieces and nephews, Steve (Sue) Sprunger, Patricia (David) Menge, and Michelle Carlson; and several great-nieces and great-nephews; and many great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Doris Kennedy and Max Sprunger; and nephew, Michael Kennedy. Service is 1:00 pm, on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. with calling two hours prior beginning at 11:00 am.
