Rubynelle May Mertz, 88, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021. Born in Portland, Indiana, Ruby was the daughter of the late Veo and Ethyl Flory. Ruby and her husband were the founders of Modern Woodworking Custom Cabinetry (now known as Pennville Custom Cabinetry) of Portland, Indiana and RuEd Enterprises, Tucson, AZ. Surviving are her son, Jonathan (Veronica) Mertz of Fort Wayne, foster daughter Barbara (Fred) Givens; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister, Annabelle Smith. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Edgar Mertz; daughters, Joyce Gutierrez, Jennifer Dhawan and brothers, Calvin and Gerald Flory.
