Ronald Lee Miller, 83, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away peacefully in his Suffolk, Virginia home on March 19, 2024. He was born on July 24, 1940, in Goshen, Indiana to parents Herbert "Sam" and Vivian (Biddle) Miller. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1960, and cherished his time in Stuttgart, Germany. Upon returning to Fort Wayne, he went to work for Zollner Corporation and helped to raise four children. He was very involved in his children's school activities and enjoyed coaching several Little League teams, as well as his daughters' softball teams. He later married Jacqueline "Jackie" Sobeske and they shared 30 wonderful years together before her untimely passing in 2018. Together they enjoyed church, travel, golf, attending sporting events, spending time with family and friends, being involved grandparents, and lending a helping hand to whomever they could. In 2000, Ron retired from his work as purchasing manager after 37 years at Zollner Corporation, where he made many lifelong friendships. Ron moved to Virginia in 2022 to live closer to his daughter Sara, son-in-law Adam, and grandson, Cade. He found a renewed zest for life in a beautiful retirement community where he made many new friends and was active in social functions and outings, playing pool, and even a little golf again. Here, he was referred to by many as "the sweetest, kindest man." Ron is survived by: his daughters Amy Cochren and Sara Miller (Adam Keefe); and grandchildren: Marissa, Ryan, Hayden, Rohan, Nolan, and Cade. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Betty (Marvin) Malovey and Margaret Wiseman; nephew Scott (Vetta Kidd) Wiseman; nieces Kris (Pat) Gilman, Kim (Brett) Brumet, and Angie Allen; three great nieces and one great nephew.
