Robert L. "Pug" Sweet, 75, of Leo died Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Parkview Randallia Hospital. Born September 3, 1942 in Dearborn, MI, he was a son of the late Robert and Betty (Scholstrait) Sweet.
He was a member of Leo United Methodist Church. Pug liked fishing and supporting his favorite sport teams which included the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears and the Indiana Hoosiers. He was a talented athlete playing softball many years for Lounge Optical. He loved the outdoors, traveling with Shelby out west each year for the last 34 years. He also loved eating a Coney Island hot dog, doing so, at least monthly, from the time he was a boy. Finally, Pug was known as a yard nut who had to have his lawn manicured.
Surviving are his wife, Shelby Sweet; sons, Tony (Barbara) Sweet and Nick (Tammy) Sweet; nephews, Chris (Angie) Sweet and Aaron (Earlene) Masi; great-nephew, Aaron James Masi; great-niece, Leah Masi and sister-in-law, Jerilyn (Larry) Lowe. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Sweet.
Funeral service is 11 AM Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Leo United Methodist Church 13527 Leo Rd. with visitation one-hour prior. Visitation also from 4 – 8 PM Friday, December 22, 2017 at Fairhaven Funeral Home 6557 N. Clinton Street.
Burial in Leo Memorial Park.
