Robert "Bob" P. Stoppenhagen, age 79, passed away Thursday, October 14th, 2021 in Fort Wayne. He was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late Clarence and Violet Stoppenhagen. Robert graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School in Indianapolis and then Indiana University, Bloomington. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity.
He served as a Sergeant in the US Army Reserves. Professionally, he worked at International Harvester before pursuing several entrepreneurial endeavors including owning the Indy Dare Devils, a professional soccer team, printing, a restaurant, home building and promotions. Later he worked for GTE (Verizon) Wireless and Sprint PCS.
He enjoyed boating on Lake James, traveling, snow skiing, and church.
He is survived by his sons, Brad (Stephanie) Stoppenhagen and Eric (Ayumi) Stoppengen; and four grandchildren, Hannah, Andrew, Tristan, and Aris. Bob was preceded in death by his siblings, Wes Stoppenhagen and Joan Liebmann.
