Robert Franklin "Bob" Rondot, 92, beloved husband of DeEtte Rondot, passed away on August 30th, 2025 at his home in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He was born in Fort Wayne on December 24th,1932 to the late Alfred Blase Rondot and Frances Magdalene (App) Rondot.
Bob graduated from Fort Wayne International College in 1952 and went on to work as an accountant at General Electric, where he worked for 37 years.
His life's passions included photography, stamp collecting, family vacations taking in the natural beauty of US National Parks, trips with his wife to Europe and also to Hawaii with dear friends Don and Lorraine Huhn, studying history, and gathering mementos from his many adventures. He was known for his love of details, numbers, and recordkeeping, his leadership in the longest-running investment club in Indiana, his meticulous travel itineraries, and extensive slideshows of travel photos. His commitment to his family and his devotion to God and the Catholic Church were the cornerstones of his life.
Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years DeEtte Marie (Matchan) Rondot, his three sons, Gregory Alan (Marie R), Lawrence Edwin (Dawn M), and Edward Dean, his four granddaughters, Victoria Frances Alice (Eric) Gauder, Jamie Lynn, Katherine Marie May, and Elizabeth Mary Margaret, and his great grandson, Noah Robert Harold Gauder, whom he had the great joy of meeting shortly before his decline in health.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Anne.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 am, Thursday, September 4, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4500 Fairfield Ave, with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 3:00-5:30 pm at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with a Holy Rosary at 5 pm. Interment will follow at Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Saint John the Baptist Catholic School Scholarship Fund.
