Robert E. Marshall, 83, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on February 12, 2025, at Golden Years Nursing Home after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s and dementia. Robert is survived by three children: Christine Marshall, Jeffrey (Kathryn) Marshall, and Kathleen (George) Blagojevic; six grandchildren, Dennis “Sam” Feichter, Malorie Campbell, Bailey (Andrew) Spangler, Mackenzie (Scott) Miller, Nicholas (Sarah) Racioppi, and Brandon (Kate) Racioppi; along with a multitude of great-grandchildren. Robert is also survived by a brother, Timothy (Brenda) Marshall, and girlfriend, Linda Ellenwood. Robert was preceded in death by father, Kenneth R. Marshall; mother, Ruth E. Marshall; and stillborn brother, Dayrle Marshall.
Born in Bluffton, Indiana on October 21, 1941, Robert grew up in Rome City, Indiana and graduated from Rome City High School in 1959 at the age of 17. He immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a 3

Class Radioman where he served on three aircraft carriers: USS Princeton LPH 5, USS Oriskany CVA 34, USS Thetis Bay LPH 6. He continued with this radio interest as a Ham Radio Operator using the call sign KA9CKK.
After the Navy, Robert married Judith Ann Cook and started a family. They lived at Jones Lake for one year and then moved to Fort Wayne, where they remained. As the three children were born and grew up, the family spent every Sunday and many weeks during the summer at Adams Lake in Wolcottville with the Cook family and in Rome City with the Marshalls. Bob and the kids enjoyed fishing year-round at the lake and hunting in the woods surrounding the area. IN later years he enjoyed traveling with friends to mostly historic locations and Florida. Robert “Bob”, worked at General Electric as a Plumber/Pipefitter for over 33 years and retired from the Taylor Street GE Plant in 1997 after serving as a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club, Past President and eventually Battalion Chief of the G.E. Volunteer Fire Department, and the Chief Steward for the Maintenance Department’s Local 901 IUE Union. Bob believed in a life of service. He was a Cub Scouts Scoutmaster for three years and the YMCA Adventure Guides, then known as the Y Indian Guides. Bob was a highly active member of the American Legion Post 47, Fort Wayne, since 1981 and served as Finance Officer, Chaplain, and Commander. He was also on the Legion’s Executive Committee. In addition, Bob was a member of the Fraternal order of Eagles 3512 Aerie, Fort Wayne. Services for Bob are as follows: Public visitation will be at FairHaven Funeral Home, 6557 N. Clinton Street, on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 3 pm to 7 pm. Funeral Service will be at the funeral home and Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 11 am with a graveside service immediately following at Concordia Cemetery Gardens, 5365 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46815. Charitable donations can be made in Robert’s name to the Rescue Mission or Shepherd’s House.
