Robert Lee Havener Sr. entered into eternal life with his Lord and Savior on August 25, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
On December 20, 1936, Bob was born to Robert and Alta (Martin) Havener. On July 24, 1954, he married the love of his life, Phyllis Williams, who preceded him in death. Bob worked for the Fort Wayne Newspapers for over 40 years before his retirement, and was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
A kind and humble man, Bob was always willing to lend a hand to help others. Quick with a joke, his humor and laughter would always light up a room. Bob loved his sister's fried chicken, playing pool with his sons, and poker with his retired buddies. Many family gatherings were spent around the table playing euchre with his children and grandchildren. Bob loved his family deeply and was always present in their lives. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bob is survived by his children, Robert (Bonnie) Havener Jr., of Ft. Wayne, Rebecca (George) Elonzae, of Fort Wayne, and Richard (Janice) Havener, of Ossian, Indiana, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, sister, Jeanie (Joe) Noffsinger of Sturgis Kentucky, and many nieces and nephews.
Others proceeding Bob in death were his parents, daughter, Ann Dahlkamp, granddaughters, Amanda Salyer and Skye Snow, brothers Chuck and Jerry Havener.
