Obituary

Robert “Bob” D. Buhr, 90, of Fort Wayne, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, July 17, 2026. He was born on the farm in Churubusco, IN on August 20, 1935 and was one of eight children of the late Paul and Marie (Schmidt) Buhr. Bob graduated from North Side High School. He started working on the family farm, was a milk man and a professional painter. He proudly served in United States Army and spent two years in Germany. Bob retired from Zollner. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, and traveling the world. Bob was a member at Ascension Lutheran Church and served as an usher. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and caregiver.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Joan; daughters, Jill (Gary) Brigman and Holly (Michael Hack) Buhr; granddaughters, Paige (Andy) King and Bailey (Josue) Julio; great-grandchildren, Elin, Mason, Sol, Paloma, and Daisy; sisters, Joan Winesburg, Marcella Buhr, and Pauline Carpenter; sister-in-law, Kathy Clawson and a host of relatives and friends. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Robin Buhr and Chad Buhr.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Ascension Lutheran Church (8811 St Joe Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46835) at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be on Friday, July 24, 2026 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46825) from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at St. Peters Cemetery, Fort Wayne.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church.
