Rise L. Purdue, age 73, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021 in Fort Wayne. She was born in Fort Wayne to the late Jack and Norine Procise. Rise retired from GTE/Verizon after 50 years starting as an operator and becoming one of the first female lineman in Indiana. After earning her degree in electronics, she finished her career as a programmer. Rise was also active as a steward with the IBEW Union handling grievances and contract negotiations. She was a member of Bethleham Lutheran Church and enjoyed volunteering at Allen County SPCA. Rise is survived by her sons, Sean Hayes of Fort Wayne, and Andrew (Christina) Hayes of Leo, IN; grandchildren, Alyssa Hayes and Connor Hayes; great-grandson, Kamden; siblings, Renee Procise, Dan Procise, and Becky Procise all of Fort Wayne. Service is 10:30 am, Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St., with calling one hour prior. Calling also 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Allen County SPCA.
