Ricky James “Rick” Gibson, 70, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born in Fort Wayne, Rick was a son of the late Bert and Patricia (Chaney) Gibson. He graduated from South Side High School, Class of 1974.
Rick was a welder by trade and worked for Terex and Custom Engineering and Fabrication during his working years. He married the love of his life, Marsha Tone, on October 13, 1979.
Family was the most important part of Rick’s life. He was always there to support his grandchildren and could be found proudly attending their school activities and sporting events. Rick was an avid hockey and baseball fan and enjoyed spending time taking care of his yard. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family and the memories they made together.
Surviving are his wife, Marsha Gibson; children, Leslie (Greg Reed) Gibson, Lindsay (Dave Dabe) Gibson, and Lucas (Heather Marionowski) Gibson; grandchildren, Cole Reed, Avery Reed, Jude Fyock, and Phineas Fyock; and siblings, Bert (Lorene) Gibson, Jon (Robin) Gibson, Brenda (Dan) VanGilder, Mark (Cathy) Gibson, and Penny (Larry) Hissong.
Rick was preceded in death by his grandson, Aiden Reed and son-in-law, Grant Fyock.
Private family services will be held.
