Obituary

Richard Wright, Rick to most, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones this March.

Rick was born in Watertown, Wisconsin, to Harold and Eleanore. He grew up on his family’s dairy farm alongside his 9 siblings. There he made many memories that created the great stories we all heard of. As a teenager he met the love of his life, Sandra (Sandy). He graduated from Lakeside Lutheran in 1966 and married Sandy in 1968. Together they raised their two daughters and son. Rick had quite the green thumb and used it proudly to operate their floral shops, Southgate Floral in Jefferson, Wisconsin, and later Ivy Florals in Janesville, Wisconsin. They later moved to Fort Wayne, IN, to work for General Motors and ITT. Rick retired and kept busy by growing his beautiful gardens, researching genealogy, and collecting state quarters.

Rick is survived by his wife Sandra; daughters Rebecca and Kristina (Kurt); granddaughters Caitlan (Craig) and Gabrielle; grandsons Joshua (Amber), Alex (Rowan), Noah, Aiden, and Daniel; great-granddaughter Isabella; great-grandsons Cayden, Camden, Caius, and Cerick; and 6 siblings.

He is preceded in death by his beloved son Nicholas. His parents Harold and Eleanore; and siblings Kenny, Joyce, Sandy, Cathryn, and Carol.

A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, April 26, at 1 pm, located at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN).
