Richard Wayne Waters Jr., 67, of Pleasant Lake, IN passed away on November 4th, 2025. He was born on January 2nd, 1958 in Fort Wayne, IN, the son of Richard Waters Sr. and Donna (Bauer) Waters.
Rick graduated from Bishop Luers in 1976. He played hockey with the Fort Wayne Youth Hockey travelling team for several years. He retired as the Steel Shop Supervisor from Superior Canopy in April 2025 after working there for the majority of 16 years of his long, hard-working career.
Rick loved fishing, watching sports (Go Red Wings, Rangers, Raiders, Dodgers, Yankees, and University of Michigan!), camping, and being outdoors in general. He had a green thumb, and could make anything grow. He was a jack of all trades, and someone you could always go to for help.
Rick didn't like being the center of attention, but he deserves to be celebrated for being an amazing son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was a kind, generous soul and a man of integrity. He did everything he could to take care of those he loved.
Rick is survived by his mother Donna Waters; son Ryan (Leslie) Waters, son Matthew Waters, and daughter Elizabeth (Jared) Jordan; grandchildren Tricia (Julien) Ford, Rubie Waters, Richard Waters, and Stella Waters; sisters Kathy Allgood, Barb (John) Fennelly, and Krista (Bobby) O'Brien; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday November 15th from 2-4pm at FairHaven Funeral Home in Fort Wayne, IN.
Should friends desire, memorial donations in Rick's name to World Wildlife Fund or flowers are both welcome.
We find comfort in knowing that Rick's legacy will live on in the memories shared with those he loved.
