Obituary

Richard "Rick" E. Powell, 68, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, September 4 ^th , surrounded by his family and friends, "leaving no stone left unturned". Born in Fort Wayne to the late George and Della Powell, Rick graduated from Wayne H.S. in 1973. Rick worked at Cutting Tools Inc. for 35 years, then MSC Industrial Supply where he concluded his working career. He was a member of the Waynedale Masonic Lodge 739 for over 15 years. He was a lifelong IU fan. Rick loved to spread magic across the state during the Christmas season as Santa Claus. His favorite times were fishing and spending time with his family. Rick was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Ruth Powell; children, Raeshelle (Anthony) Cousineau, Robert (Emma) Powell, and Ryan Powell; grandchildren, Gabriella and Parker Cousineau; numerous grand puppies; brother, Randy (Kelly) Powell; sister, Gena Bunsold; brother-in- law, David Linnemeier; numerous nieces and nephews, uncle and aunts.

Rick was preceded in death by his sister, Ronda Linnemeier; brother-in-law, Steve Bunsold.

Funeral Services for Rick will be on Monday, September 11 ^th at 11:00 am with calling 1 hour prior, calling also on Sunday 2-6 pm all at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. A Masonic service will take place on Sunday at 6 pm. Burial will take place at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials in Rick's honor may be directed to Messiah Lutheran Church.
