Obituary

Richard E. Borton 83, of Fort Wayne, IN, went home to join his Heavenly Father on July 9, 2016 with family by his side. He was the son of William Earl and Henrietta Borton. He graduated from Central High School in 1952. Richard married Sandra, to whom he was married to for over 60 years. He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church for over 50 years, a Mason who was a member of Wayne Lodge #25, and a past state president of United Commercial Travelers (UCT). He enjoyed coaching and umpiring Little League baseball for over 18 years. Richard was a dedicated and loving family man who never lost his sense of humor.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Borton, and their four children, Michael (Renette) Borton of Great Falls, VA, Steven (Candy) Borton, Scott Borton and Theresa (Duane) Smith, all of Fort Wayne, IN. Also, surviving, one brother, Thomas (Suzan) Borton and one sister, Barbara Bolen of Fremont, IN; seven grandchildren (Angela, Renee, Stephanie, Alexandra, Kinsey, Sydney, Caitlin) and five great-grandchildren (Josh Jr, Max, Alex, Harley, Xavier).
He was proceeded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Borton.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 5 to 7 pm at FairHaven Funeral Home 6557 N. Clinton St. Fort Wayne, IN; Funeral at St. Matthews Lutheran Church 2305 Goshen Road at 11:00 a.m. with one hour of calling from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
