Rebecca Ann Tapp, age 71, of New Haven passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at her home. She was born in Fort Wayne to the late Oris Smith and Dorothy Alvather. Rebecca was a longtime bus driver with East Allen School Corporation and always enjoyed interacting with the children she drove. She attended Avalon Missionary Church and loved sewing and crafting. Most of all, she will be remembered for being a mom to her community and caring for people well. Rebecca is survived by her children, Darrell (Sandra) Cates and Rebekah (Quinten) McClain both of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers; and one sister. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Roy Cates and Robert Tapp; one grandchild; and one brother. Service is 1:00 pm, Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Avalon Church - office worship center, 1500 Lower Huntington Rd. with calling two hours prior beginning at 11:00 am. Burial at Prairie Grove Cemetery.
