Obituary

Rebecca Sue "Becky" Inniger, 76, went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, September 13, 2021. Born in Wauseon, Ohio, Becky was a daughter of the late Harley and Dorothy (Baum) Goldsmith. Becky earned her bachelors degree from Fort Wayne Bible College. She married Stan Inniger at the Pettisville Missionary Church in Pettisville, Ohio, on August 5, 1967. Stan passed away March 1, 2021. Becky and Stan moved to near Detroit, Michigan, where they served their missionary internship. Their first pastorate was at Bureau Township Community Church near Princeton, Illinois. In 1972 Becky and Stan went to Costa Rica, Central America, for a year of language training in Spanish. They went in 1973 to the Dominican Republic, where they served for 7 years. Following the call to missions again, Becky and Stan then served as missionaries in Dublin, Ireland, beginning in 2005. They returned to the US in 2011 and retired to Fort Wayne. Becky and Stan attended Northside Missionary Church. Becky enjoyed cooking, cross-stitch, loved playing and listening to music. She loved her family and cherished the time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her three children: Sara (Rev. Kent) Scantlin and Benjamin (Jessica) Inniger, both of Fort Wayne, and Suzanne (Shane) Conover of Gary, Indiana. Also surviving are her dear grandchildren; Andrew (Brittany) Scantlin, Caty (Payton) Chitwood, Anna, Luke, and Callie Scantlin, and Azariah and Sydney Inniger, all of Fort Wayne, as well as Noah and Jacob Conover of Gary, Indiana, one great-grandchild, Finnley Scantlin of Fort Wayne; sisters, Annette (Dr. Larry) Salsburey of Santa Clarita, CA, and Carol Goldsmith of Delta, Ohio. Service is 10:30 am, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Northside Missionary Church, 736 Lillian Ave., with calling one hour prior. Calling also 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. Memorials may be made to Northside Missionary or World Partners.
