IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rebecca Blair
Horin
August 13, 1989 – December 31, 2025
Rebecca Blair Horin, age 36, entered into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 31st, 2025 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She was born on August 13th, 1989 to Terry and Linda Horin in Cape May Court House, New Jersey. She was a graduate of Middle Township High School where she competed successfully on the swim team and was an outstanding pitcher for the softball team.
Rebecca was an active member of her community and worked many jobs including waitressing at Carmen’s Seafood and Scola Restaurants, coordinating programs at the Cape May County Library, working as a barista, swim instructor, coaching a variety of sports teams and working as a teacher’s aide at Dennis Township Primary School.
Her life was a testament to her faith in Jesus, she prioritized building relationships with those around her, always lifting others up, and had a gift of encouragement. She easily saw the “gold” in anyone she met, and excelled in helping others find their purpose and give life to their dreams. She also loved sharing her testimony as a leader in local youth groups, mentoring others, and was a part of the worship team at her church.
Rebecca was creative and excelled at anything she put her mind to. She loved to sing, play the piano, write, experiment with various recipes in the kitchen and in making her famous “nut butters.” She loved reading, running, swimming, and going to the beach. Mostly she loved spending time with friends and family. Rebecca had a fun, loving and charismatic personality, always used her gifts and talents to bring communities together, and had a unique ability to turn strangers into lifelong friends.
Rebecca battled throughout her life with an eating disorder and alcohol addiction. Even throughout her battle she remained steadfast in her faith and hope in Jesus and never wavered in her love for Him or others. She was still meeting new people, encouraging them, equipping them, and turning them into forever friends right up until the end. She is now at peace resting in the arms of her Savior and experiencing the freedom she had always believed him for.
Rebecca is predeceased by her mother Linda Horin, her aunt Carol DeSantis, her paternal
grandparents Caroline and Theodore Horin, and her maternal grandmother Rhelda Fowler.
She is survived by her maternal grandfather William Fowler, her father Terry Horin, her sisters Jennifer Coutlee Fowler-Horin and Katie(Walt) Buganski, and her brother Nicholas (Abby) Horin, her nieces and nephews Kieran(Sammy), Nicholas Jr., Donovan, Bryson,Nora, and Cooper. She is also survived by her uncles Tony DeSantis and Dan (Sue) Fowler, and her aunt Diane (Henry) Heacock. Also surviving are her many great aunts and uncles and her cousins who all loved her dearly.
