Obituary

Raymond Strong, age 75, passed on October 18, 2026, at home surrounded by love and family. Born October 16, 1951, in Evanston, IL, to the late Richard & Lahlet Strong Raymond, he and his siblings grew up in Evanston and graduated from ETHS. Raymond went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and upon returning home, soon started working for Active Service inc where he worked for over 30 years, moving through many roles until his retirement. During that time, he married Ruth Ella Strong nee Davis, and to that union was born a daughter, Lahlette Strong. They divorced, and he later married Angelique Nocchi Strong. Raymond was known for his kindness & generosity, and love of family and friends. Raymond enjoyed his time in the Drum & Bugle Corps with his siblings and always made it a point to go to the 4th of July parades in the area where Drum Corps were performing. He loved watching DCI (Drum Corps International) shows and competitions and would routinely call his sister to discuss them. He was also known for his love of music, especially Jazz, Westerns, Science Fiction, and playing cards. Family gatherings routinely led to a Bid WHist game with lots of trash-talking and laughter.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Angelique Nocchi Strong; daughter, Lahette Strong; brothers, Darnell Strong and Rick (Janelle) Strong; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his siblings, Ryan (Luzie) Strong, Rita (Charles) Glass, Randall Strong & Kevin Strong; as well as his niece, Tifni Garner (nee Strong).
