Raymond E. Johnson, 74, of South Whitley, died Saturday November 25 2023. Raymond graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School, and Cum Laude from Purdue University with a bachelor degree in Animal Science. He was offered a spot at Cornell University Veterinarian School, but he had already decided that he wanted to become a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a kind and giving man. Raymond was a loving husband, uncle, and friend. He was the calm in the storm to many. He married the love of his life in 1985.
Raymond is survived by his wife Christine; nieces, Michelle Geiger, Carmen Hinsey, Lauren Holmes, Alyssa Johnson, Hazel Johnson, Mindy Johnson, Lily Johnson, Dylan Johnson, Kaylee and her daughter Ava Geiger, Kinslee Scheiner, Everlee Scheiner, Magnolia Scheiner; Nephews, Brad Johnson, Matt Johnson, Ben Johnson, Alex Geiger, Trevor Geiger, Andrew Merz, Phillip Merz, Austin Tyler Scheiner, Camden Hinsey, Jon Scheiner, Caleb Jones, Sam Jones, Jon Jones, Austin Gregory Scheiner, Alex Scheiner, Adam Scheiner, and Thomas Holmes; brothers-in-laws, George (Beth) Scheiner, Greg (Donna) Scheiner, and Patrick (Laura) Scheiner; sisters-in-laws, Kathy (Richard) Johnson, Maureen (Charles) Merz, Jackie (Eric) Hinsey, Michelle Scheiner Jones, and Jennifer Scheiner Holmes.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Erline; brother, Richard and sister Lois.
Funeral services for Raymond will be held on Friday December 1st 2023 at 4 pm with visitation beginning at 1pm, all at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N Clinton ST, Fort Wayne, IN. Preferred memorials may be directed to The Humane Society of Whitley County.
