Raymond Bouthot, age 70, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on December 25. Born on December 20, 1954, he dedicated his life to his family and his work, leaving behind a legacy of love and commitment.
For many years, Ray helped run the family business, Reggie's Small Engines, before embarking on a successful career as a Senior Engineer at Fort Wayne Metals, where he worked for 29 years until his retirement in 2017.
In his free time, Ray enjoyed spending weekends at the lake, cheering on his grandkids at their sporting events, and playing Texas Hold'em. He was a true handyman, able to build or repair nearly anything, and took pride in his gardening.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Tamra (Houser) Bouthot, with whom he shared 43 wonderful years of marriage. Ray was a loving father to his children: Tonia (Joe) Cramer, Angela (Brandon) Fisher, and Adam (Amber) Bouthot. He took great joy in being a grandparent, leaving behind eight grandchildren: Andrea, Hailey, Tristen, Colin, Colton, Channing, Annabelle, and Adella, and four great-grandchildren: Ellie, Arturo, Paisley, and Emilia.
Ray is also survived by his brothers, Ronald (Angel) Bouthot, Wayne Bouthot, and Brad (Christina) Bouthot. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reginald and Martha Bouthot, and his brother, Raney (Kathy) Bouthot. Ray will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and everyone who knew him.
Mass of Christian Burial is 12 noon, Saturday, January 4, 2024 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, Friday, January 3, 2024 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
