Obituary

Randy Van Auken, 76, of Fort Wayne, was a proud veteran, loving husband, devoted father, and dedicated family man whose presence touched the lives of all who knew and loved him. He was a strong-minded, dependable man who lived by his principles and values and was never afraid to speak his mind. Randy was genuine and true to himself—a one-of-a-kind person who will be deeply missed.

Randy was a college graduate and a hardworking business owner who owned and operated an embroidery and screen printing business. He took great pride in his work and in providing for his family. He was a wonderful role model to his sons, teaching them through his example the importance of hard work, responsibility, compassion, and staying true to who you are.

Randy had a great sense of humor and knew how to make people smile. He was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan and, in true Randy fashion, loved his Dr Pepper more than Forest Gump. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including listening to country music, watching movies, mowing the lawn, baking, cooking, caring for his plants, and doing word searches.

His dogs, Bear and Bella, held a special place in his heart, and he loved taking care of them. Randy was compassionate and caring, and those who were fortunate enough to know him knew there was no one quite like him.

Above all, Randy cherished his family. He was a loving husband and provider, a devoted father, and a man whose strength, humor, values, and love created memories that will be treasured forever.

Randy was greatly appreciated and deeply loved by his family and friends

Randy is survived by his sons, Michael and Brian Van Auken; grandchildren, Theory and Agent.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 2020, Patricia Van Auken.

A visitation will take place on Friday August 14, 2026 from 9-10am at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. We will depart for Marion National Cemetery at 10 am to lay Randy to rest and for military honors to be performed at the cemetery at 11am.

Randy was truly one of a kind. He will be loved, remembered, and missed more than words can express.
