Ramona Fay Springer, 71, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Born on September 26, 1954, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Ramona was the beloved daughter of Roma and Frieda Springer.
Ramona was raised in Harlan, Indiana, and spent most of her life in Fort Wayne, where she built lasting friendships and touched the lives of countless people with her generous heart and thoughtful spirit.
She is remembered by her sisters, Sandra (Bristle) Amburgey of Harlan and Wanda Springer of Fort Wayne; her brother, Robert Springer of Malone, Florida; her nephews, Steven Amburgey of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Scott Amburgey of Garrett, Indiana; her nieces, Leslie Springer of Cottondale, Florida and Annjanette (Rick) Richardson of Craigsville, Indiana; eight great-nieces and great-nephews; and thirteen great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Linda; and her nephews, Chris Amburgey and Anthony York.
Ramona was a truly loving and selfless person whose greatest happiness came from caring for others. She was always the first to lend a helping hand, offer a kind word, or brighten someone's day with one of her beautiful homemade greeting cards. Friends and family eagerly looked forward to the thoughtful gift baskets she lovingly assembled and, each Christmas season, the delicious homemade cookies that became a cherished tradition.
Above all else, Ramona adored her nieces and nephews. They were the center of her world, and she treasured every opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments, support them through life's challenges, and create lasting memories together. Her love for her family and dear friends was unwavering, and her legacy of kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Ramona's gentle spirit and caring heart will never be forgotten.
Service is 11:00 am on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St., with calling one hour prior.
